Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection

We recommend that all clients consider completing a Power of Attorney either for themselves or for relatives for whom they have responsibility, appointing people they trust to look after their affairs should they become mentally incapable of doing so.

There are now two types of Lasting Powers of Attorney. The Property and Affairs LPA allows you to appoint attorneys to help you before and after loss of capacity. The Personal Welfare LPA only becomes effective on loss of capacity. It can offer the opportunity for you to give guidance to attorneys on your future wishes in relation to welfare and medical issues - a form of Living Will.

We advise in relation to Court of Protection matters and act as a Deputy if no suitable family member or friend is available.
