Are you aware of the wide-ranging changes in Employment Law this year?

The Government has announced a number of employment law reforms for 2013 which will affect both employers and employees. These reforms include:

 1.    An increase in tribunal compensation limits (February 2013);

 2.    An increase in unpaid parental leave for employees, increasing from 13 weeks to 18 weeks (March 2013);

 3.    The introduction of the concept of Employee Shareholder Status as well as changes to the PAYE rules (April 2013);

 4.    A number of changes in Summer 2013 including the introduction of Employment Tribunal fees, a variation in the unfair dismissal compensation cap, mandatory pre-claim ACAS conciliation, pre-termination negotiations which will not be admissible in unfair dismissal proceedings, New Tribunal Rules of Procedure, and the reform of Compromise/Settlement Agreements.

and there are further changes announced.
