Legacy – the Lasting Gift

ByTyndallwoods July 13, 2012

Legacies are a vital source of income for all charities, none more so than Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice in its work helping people with a terminal illness enjoy the best quality of life possible and ensure their loved ones are supported for as long as they need.  The Hospice comprises a twenty-five bed In-Patient Unit, a family flat, a Day Hospice and a Community Palliative Care Team, visiting patients in their own homes.

Whether the legacy is large or small it really does make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.  The Hospice is able to help up to 20% of their patients because of gifts that people have left the Hospice in their Wills.

The Jubilee Hour campaign launched by Prince Charles invites people to undertake 60 minutes of volunteer service or an act of good will to mark Her Majesty’s 60 years of service to the nation.   I have pledged my Jubilee Hour to support the Hospice in developing and promoting their legacy initiative.
