Dorridge Fun Run

Imran Khan, Immigration Solicitor at the City Centre office took place in the 7th annual Dorridge Fun Run on Sunday 26th June 2011 in support of Edward’s Trust and Troop Aid. Imran used this opportunity as a training session for his entry in the Birmingham Half Marathon in October as part of Team 21 in support of Edward’s Trust.

Imran made up on of the event’s 1,247 entrants consisting of runners, walkers and cyclists. Imran was a runner and completed his 3 mile course in just over 51 minutes.

Young and old enjoyed a wonderful excursion through country lanes in complete safety with no need to worry about traffic. Immediately after the run participants and their supporters relaxed in the extensive grounds at St Philip’s Church Centre. They enjoyed a live jazz band, refreshments, a range of stalls and childrens’ games. A total of over £20,000 was raised by the event and Tyndallwoods, and Imran, were proud to be part of it!

Encore and Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice

Tyndallwoods Solicitors and Encore Designer Dress Agency of Moseley hosted clients and friends at a joint Fashion Show.  Over 50 guests were welcomed by Christine Timms of Encore and enjoyed Bucks Fizz and Canapes.

Judy Dyke of Tyndallwoods spoke of the wonderful work of  Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice – the 25 bed In-Patient Unit, Community Palliative Care Team and the Day Hospice. “During this year we have particularly supported the Day Hospice Restoration Appeal.  Providing new therapy, consultation and activity spaces in the Day Hospice. With the new reception area, patients benefit from greater dignity and tranquillity. There are new, easily-accessible toilets and a new terraced seating area attached to the Day Hospice, offering somewhere for patients to sit and enjoy fresh air and sunshine.” Tina Swani chief executive on behalf of the Hospice thanked those present for supporting the event and said how grateful the Hospice is for all financial support.

Louise Boss then spoke of her work as a personal branding and image consultant. Louise and volunteers from Encore had been dressed for special events and the various models were all proud to show off their designer finery. Louise explained the importance of colour and showed how an impressive look can be created at amazing prices with the use of designer wear.  The guests then spent a happy hour trying on items from the shop.  Judy said “We were so pleased that such a happy occasion raised over £1,012 for the Hospice.”
