We thank Symphony Hall for kindly being our pre race meeting point.

Dear Runner,

The big day is approaching and I am pleased to enclose your Edward’s Trust vest for you to wear with pride on the 23rd.

Over the past ten months we have produced the diary of our half marathon journey, here is the pre race version.  I will circulate the final edition after the race once we know the total sponsorship raised.

I am very grateful to Symphony Hall that they have kindly offered us the use of level 3 (ground floor) foyer area for Team 21 to meet at 9.00am.  This will be the opportunity to take some Team photos to raise the profile of Edward’s Trust, a chance to listen to a motivational speech from the Trust Founder and a calm place to prepare ourselves for the event ahead.  I look forward to seeing you there.

I must relay the news that I have had to withdraw from running on medical advice.  My heart attack of three years ago is long passed, but sadly I am not back to half marathon standard of fitness and I have to listen to the doctor’s wisdom.  I will be with you at the start to issue your ration of Jelly Beans and then please look out for me at the Edward’s Trust water station on Calthorpe Road at 11 3/4 miles.

During the half marathon, we may experience difficult times both physical and mental.  A motivational poem or picture in your pocket will help you.  If in doubt, take a copy of the poem The Gift from the diary – everyone reading this letter has shared the special journey of Team 21 with me and I thank you.

With love

Judy
